Main Task: Case Study of a Publishing House
The Publishing house I have decided to publish my music magazine would be The Bauer Media Group. I have chosen this simply because they are known for publishing music magazine and I believe that it would be a suitable magazine for my grime and hip-hop genre. They are known for publishing magazines such as: 'Q' and 'Kerrang'. They have more than roughly 79 brands that follow there interest such as 'Heat', 'Kiss' and 'Magic 105.4'. The audience that I would be targeting would young males and female's between the age of 15-27. Therefore I believe that Bauer would be a suitable publishing house for my music magazine.
I also believe that Bauer would be an suitable publishing house because it could be spreading news to people from different ages. Q magazine could be used as an example. Q magazine could be open up to both male and female magazine.
Therefore Bauer has roughly round 19 million consumer. They are very interested in being one of the first magazine to be spreading on the latest news. YouTube had offered them cash to be able to host for 20th Q magazine anniversary.
This is why I chose Bauer Media Group. Simply because of their outstanding reputation that they deliver to their audiences.
Main Task: Audience Research
In order for me to gather useful information for my music magazine, I formed a questionnaire in order for me to complete it with my research due to what the audience would like to see.
Therefore I have also included images of the audience that I have questionare 3 out of the 5
Evaluation
Due to all the answers I manage to collect from the audience I had asked. I had come to a final decision to what my music magazine should look like and what feature should be on it.
Most people suggested that the most suitable name for my Grime & Hip Hop magazine would be ‘Boom Blast’ therefore that would be the name for my magazine.
I will also feature a price for my music magazine as I also asked the audience on how much it would be sold. Most people said between ‘£1 - £1.50’ Therefore I decided to make the price of my magazine at £1.50
Lastly, my music magazine will be based on Grime & Hip Hop I asked the audience if they would like another type of genre included, and the majority answered they would like to see both aspects.
Main Task: Profiling Your Audience
Sam and Samanth are friends but most people think their twins even thought they do look like each other. Sam is 19 and Samantha is 18. Samantha is only 2 months younger than Sam. During their spare time they love to listen to RnB and Hip Hop music. The music they listen too has a massive affect on their everyday lifestyle because they are amazing dancers. They have been dancing together for several years with a female group called '1St Class' .This could be shown by the style of clothes they are wearing. The way they are dress is quite vibrant and current, the people they hang out with and the places they go also reflect their lifestyle of the genre of music. They connect with their music everywhere they go and for most of their lives, even when they are taking a shower. They attend wild parties and concerts. Any Hip Hop and RnB songs that has been released they would make sure that they have download and addad to their playlist as soon as possible. Sam and Samantha also own modern technology such as Iphone, Blackbeery's and Laptops. The always have music to listen to with their Dr.Dre Headphones while they are on the go to their destinations. Sam and Samantha both like to inform their friends and family memebers who are roughly the same age as them to express themself about anything new in the music industry. They both uses several applications such as Facebook, Twitter, Youtube, Skype and BBM. Even though they are really passionate about the music industry, they have other hobbies such as watching tv, listening to their favourite artist, watching soap opra's, attending their local gym and go shopping with their dance group.Main Task: Double Page Spread Conventions Diagram
Dontation: On this double page, the image that I have used is of The Game in a meduim long shot while sitting down. In this shot we can also see the sourindings, It shows that The Game is sitting in a local park.
Lighting: The lighting was a day light because it was shot in the day light. It shows every detail of her surroundings
Costume: From the picture, he is wearing a hat and a clack shirt with a design on it. This is a style of what most Americans would be wearing. The sterotypically would be the opposite of a man dressed in a suit. Also the chain could connote successfulness because it would have cost a lot of money
Props: There are no prop in the main image
Setting: The background on this double page spread is on one side plain white background to keep the audience as less distracted as possible so they can concentrate on the magazine and the otherside includes a picture of The Game.
Non-Verbal Communication: In this image, the non verbal communication shows that he is sitting down on a bench in a park looking to his right. The park could suggest of the area he was brought up, Also by not looking at the camera it could be him thinking of his childhood
Target Audience: Considering all the layout and pictures, the target audience would be 16-40 year olds. Also mainly male because they would be interested in rap music and an interview from ‘The Game’. As this certain type of crowd will be interested in The Game stories related stuff like this and his music
Main Task: Front Cover Textual Analysis
Denotation: The magazine consist of colour photograph of an American rapper T.I whose looking directly at the camera. It’s a close up shot showing his head, shoulders and a bit of the chest. You can also see him holding his hands above his chest. The photograph covers the whole magazine cover. Behind T.I is the VIBE Masthead although his head covers the letter ‘B’, and in front of him are subheadings of different celebrities’ artist.Masthead: Vibe masthead is very unique: Red written in capital letters except for the ‘e’. The font that has been used is Sans Serif Font.
Character: The Cover photograph is of the successful American rap artist T.I (Clifford Joseph Harris, Jr.)
Composition: He is posted in sitting calmed postition looking directly at the camera in a eye level shot. His pose, body language and clothing suggest as he's dressed as an rich american gangster.
Coverlines: The main cover-lines that relates to T.I's photograph when he says: ''People have been comparing me to Tupac...''. This is making a reference to one of the previous greatest american rap artist.

Target Audience: Considering all of these points, they are likelytarget audience would be male and female, but mostly male around the age of 18-355. They would have a good knowledge of American rap. They are well educated and they also have a big interest in American rap culture.

It’s a showing from her waist to her head. The photograph covers the middle with a Beyonce image for the magazine cover. Behind Beyonce is the VIBE Masthead although her head covers the letter ‘B’, and in front of her are subheadings of different celebrities’ artist. Masthead Vibe masthead is very unique: Red written in capital letters except for the ‘e’. The font that has been used is Sans Serif Font.

Target Audience: Considering all of these points, they are likely target audience would be male and female, but mostly female around the age of 11-35. They would have a good knowledge of a Singer. They are well educated and they also have a big interest in music.
Main Task: Introduction
My name is Camile Malungu, I am currently in Year 12 at Christ The King Sixth Form College and have been studying AS Media. In this task I will be making a front cover, contents page and double page spread of a Grime & Hip Hop magazine. I chose Grime & Hip Hop simply because these are the types of music I really can relate to. Its a type of music genre I enjoy listening to. Although through this course I would be planning and researching so that I have a good understanding on what I have to achieve in this task.
